Digital Technology & Print Production, Project 1 part-B, My individualised version of the original article

The brief for Project 1 part-B, stated that we were to; re-structure, re-style and re-present the original article. I had a lot of fun with this project as the brief was so vague; it was open to our own interpretation. Firstly I re-designed the front page of the article. Whilst researching pictures of Donyale Luna, I found that there were a lot more colourful and interesting images that I could use to brighten up the front page and make it more enticing to its readers. Secondly, I changed the font of the introduction; I chose a more 'tribal' style, as I believed it tied in with the content of the article itself. Furthermore, I changed the general layout of the article so it was more simplistic. I didn’t like the way the original article had the majority of its images on separate pages, I wanted the readers to visualise Luna's life through the images whilst reading the article. I therefore included images alongside the text, cutting out a whole page. I decided not to include enlarged quotes amongst the text as I believe it looks untidy and is hard to read the text surrounding the quote. I did however blow up the first letter of some paragraphs as I believe it gives the page a nice structure and also breaks up large quantities of text. I changed a lot of the images in the article. The main reason for this was because I wanted to bring a lot more colour onto the pages, the article is about a very vibrant and lively character and I wanted to express this through images.
