Mert and Marcus- Fashion Photographers

Mert and Marcus are the photographers we have chosen to incorporate their style into our campaign shots. We were able to pull ideas and inspiration from certain aspects of their work such as, their use of angles especially on the body, use of bright colours and also how the women are usually portrayed as powerful and dominant. I personally chose these two as i love the quirky poses they use, and i thought it would be interesting to incorporate these elements into an 'All Saints' campaign for 'Dazed and Confused' magazine as we could have fun collaborating these ideas to come up with a slightly fresher new look.
Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott were born in 1971 in Turkey and Whales, they met in 1994 and began working together as fashion photographers, they became famous when they sent their photographs into 'Dazed and Confused' Magazine and immediately made the cover. These photographers are strongly known for portraits of sophisticated, powerful woman. There style strongly resembles that of Guy Bourdan (their biggest influence and inspiration). Their work often appears in magazines such as Vogue USA, Vogue Italia, W Magazine and Pop Magazine. Their clients include labels such as; Louis Vuitton, Gucci, YSL, Givenchy and many more. We decided to shoot our photographs in the style of Mert and Marcus as we thought it would be appropriate for 'Dazed and Confused' magazine.
